Bluebonnet Market postpones opening to Saturday, April 12

The city of Ennis has announced that the opening of its Bluebonnet Market (farmers market) has been postponed to Saturday, April 12.

Bluebonnet Market, which is an open air gathering, was slated to open this Saturday at its location starting in the 100 block of N. Dallas St. and extending northward along Dallas Street.

“We are expecting severe weather and want to ensure the safety of our vendors and visitors,” market officials wrote in an email to vendors. “However, we are excited to invite you to join us the following week on Saturday, April 12, for the Bluebonnet Market as part of the Bluebonnet Trails Festival! This market will be held on West Brown Street to accommodate the festival activities, and we’d love to have you with us for this fun and vibrant event.

“Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you at the Bluebonnet Market next weekend,” the email read.

Bluebonnet Market will feature more than 30 vendors this season, with offerings ranging from a wide variety of food items to arts and crafts, handcrafted wood furniture, and much more. The Ellis County Master Gardeners Association will also have an information booth on site.

Bluebonnet Market hours run from 8 a.m.-noon, with the market returning to its usual location beginning Saturday, April 19, and continuing through the end of October.
