The Ennis ISD board of trustees recently announced Dr. Greg Bradley as its lone finalist for superintendent.

“We are very excited to name Dr. Bradley as the lone finalist to lead our district as the next superintendent,” board president, Bramlet Beard, said in a statement. “We had a lot of great applicants, but we felt with his experience and leadership qualities, he was the best fit for Ennis ISD.”

Bradley is currently the deputy superintendent for Prosper ISD, where he has served since 2012 and previously held the roles of assistant superintendent for business and operations and as a middle school principal.

He also serves as an adjunct professor for Dallas Baptist University, where he instructs doctoral students in school finance.

“Prosper ISD is the fastest growing district in the state of Texas, growing from 7,060 in 2014-2015 to a current enrollment of over 32,000 students,” according to an Ennis ISD media release, which notes, “Dr. Bradley has made significant contributions by developing the construction and rollout strategy for a successful $2.8 billion bond election in November 2023 and added $60 million to the district’s fund balance over six years.”

Raised in Hughes Springs, Texas, Bradley graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree at Howard Payne University, where he served as student body president. He continued his education at Dallas Baptist University, where he earned his Master of Education and Doctorate of Education degrees.

“I am thrilled and deeply honored to join the Ennis ISD family as superintendent,” Bradley said. “Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about building dynamic educational environments where students thrive, and I immediately connected with the board of education and their vision of excellence.

“Ennis ISD’s rich history, commitment to student achievement, and deep community roots create the perfect foundation for educational innovation and growth,” he said. “I look forward to working alongside the dedicated educators, staff, parents, and community members to build upon Ennis ISD’s tradition of excellence while preparing our students for future success. Together, we’ll continue the Lion Pride Way as we write the next chapter in this remarkable district’s story.”

Bradley has been married to his wife, Melody, for 21 years. They have two daughters, Kiersi, who attends Texas A&M University, and Kayden, who is a senior at Prosper High School. He is a member of Prestonwood North Church, where he serves as a deacon. He enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and golfing.

Seventy-four people applied for the EISD superintendent position, with the board working with a search firm to vet those who interviewed.

According to the EISD media release, the field was narrowed to 16 applicants, who each submitted a personal video for the first screening process. Six candidates were brought in for interviews, with the third round seeing four undergo a more in-depth interview. For a final discussion, the board hosted a dinner, along with their spouses, Bradley, and his wife.

“All trustees took this task very seriously, and we feel we did a thorough job in the interview process,” Beard said.

State law requires a 21-day waiting period after naming a lone finalist. The board will schedule a meeting later in the month at the completion of the 21-day period to make the position official.
