Igloo recalls rolling coolers; replacement tow handles made available

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of more than 1 million coolers, identified as Igloo 90 Qt. Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers.

According to the CPSC notice, “The tow handle can pinch consumers’ fingertips against the cooler, posing fingertip amputation and crushing hazards.”

More than a million of the coolers have been sold in the United States, while tens of thousands have been sold in Canada and Mexico.

The recall pertains to coolers manufactured prior to January 2024. Read which models are involved via the link below.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled coolers and register for a free tow replacement handle,” reads a statement from Igloo, which said it has “received 12 reports of fingertip injuries, including fingertip amputations, bone fractures, and lacerations.
