Permits required for solicitors in Waxahachie

The city of Waxahachie requires all solicitors to have a permit, a recent post on the city’s official Facebook page reminds residents.

The application process for a permit is handled by the Waxahachie Police Department, with the requirements detailed within the city’s Ordinance No. 3325.

Those requirements include the applicant being fingerprinted and photographed. Per the ordinance, solicitors may not have had any criminal convictions (felony or misdemeanor) in the past five years.

The application’s approval must be granted and a $35 fee paid prior to any solicitation work being done.

“Once approved, solicitors must wear their permit on a visible lanyard at all times,” the city’s reminder post reads.
