State comptroller distributes monthly sales tax revenue

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Office recently distributed monthly sales tax revenue to local governments.

Statewide, the office sent $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for December to cities, counties, transit systems, and special purpose districts. The allocations in total represented 6.8% more than what was distributed in December 2023.

The allocations represent sales made in October, with the collected taxes submitted to the state in November for the December distribution.

In Ellis County, the city of Waxahachie received the largest payment, $2,394,2158.17, with year-to-date payments totaling $30,093,798.33, a 3.37% increase over 2023 receipts.
