Waxahachie City Council approves street-related service contracts

The Waxahachie City Council recently approved two street-related service contracts (both with 4-0 votes):

• A $276,794 contract with Andale Construction Inc. for the application of Oxcon, a concrete resurfacing product that is used to extend the life of concrete roads and is “specifically designed to repair deterioration such as spalling, scaling, and disintegration.” The project includes Gingerbread Lane, starting in the concrete section north of Village Gate Drive and ending at the Interstate 35E service road.

• a $750,000 contract with Donelson Construction Company LLC for the application of Pressure Pave, an asphalt pavement preservation product that is pressure-injected into cracks.

In other business, the council unanimously reauthorized its guidelines and criteria for governing economic development incentives. The state requires reauthorization every two years, with city staff noting the policy was updated with several changes in 2021. The statutory review indicated no changes were needed at this time, they said.
