Waxahachie City Council recognizes tourism team

The Waxahachie City Council recently recognized the city as having received its official designation as a Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community. Special recognitions were extended to the city’s Convention and Visitors Bureau team members Laurie Mosley, Monica Boyd, and Danielle Guinn for their work toward obtaining the certification.
“Over the last year, they coordinated with key community partners to provide the state of Texas with the required information, participated in several interviews, and completed all the necessary work to ensure that Waxahachie qualified to receive this special designation,” the city noted on its Facebook page.
The Tourism Friendly Texas Certified Community program is a new designation created to encourage communities across Texas to pursue tourism as an economic development strategy and provide resources and recognition for those efforts. It is overseen by the Office of the Texas Governor.
